Our philosophy is that the curriculum should always fit the students. Our instructors devote individual attention to each student—which many camps reserve for top students—to build their strengths and address their weaknesses.

Libertas Debate Academy understands that community and strong relationships in this activity is key to success. We're ensuring that students nationwide make lasting friendships even. At camp, we make relationships between students a priority.

This happens in small but powerful ways. At the end of the day, students can relax in a "hub" where they can play games, learn from other debaters, and meet new people. We plan to ensure Libertas alumni truly benefit from their peers and mentors for life.

Transportation & Travel

Flying to Camp

If you are flying to camp, we provide transportation to and from camp and Ontario International Airport (ONT). Transportation is scheduled for the start and end dates of our Session.

Students should arrive Sunday, July 13 and depart Saturday, August 2. Please arrive between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Departing flights should be scheduled between 9:00am and 12:00pm.

If you choose to arrive or depart from an airport other than ONT, please ensure that you make your own transportation arrangements.

TDI & Libertas staff members will be waiting to welcome you at the baggage claim. Our staff will accompany you on the shuttles to and from Los Angeles Airport and the University of California, Riverside campus.

Driving to Camp

If you plan to drive to camp, please arrive by 7:00pm on Sunday, July 13 for the Core session.

Camp Life & Accomodations

Tuition covers university dining hall services, which features a variety of meal options, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Our dining options also accommodate various dietary restrictions, including allergies, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal food options. Residential students have access to 3 meals per day and overnight accommodations.

Students will dorm at UC Riverside and enjoy a host of UCR amenities

Financial Aid

Cost shouldn't be a barrier. To apply for aid,

To apply for financial aid, students must send an email containing the following:

A letter from the student’s parents/guardians. This letter should indicate the level of need and the camp session and commuter option for which you are applying for aid.
A letter from the student’s coach. The coach’s letter should emphasize the student’s contribution to their team, work ethic, and skill. If the student does not have a debate coach, they may ask a school teacher.
Scanned tax forms (1040 forms and either W2s or 1099s) for both parents/guardians.

Aid is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, with aid decisions announced on a rolling basis. Last year, we provided more than $25,000 in financial aid, making us one of the highest-donating debate programs on a per-student basis. However, due to resource limitations, we cannot guarantee that all requests for aid will be accepted.
